European countries achieve greater success at the World Championship held in Baku

European teams are showing clearly superior results at the World Minifootball Championship held in Baku. This conclusion can be reached after the group stage - 14 teams from the "Old Continent" qualified for the 1/8 finals. Of the representatives of other continents, only Mauritania (Africa) and Thailand (Asia) continue the fight.

Idman.biz reports that some pairs in the 1/8 final stage are quite interesting.

For example, the Azerbaijan national team will face the current world champion Romania. However, the course of the tournament showed that titled teams can also experience difficulties in terms of game and results in Baku. For example, the USA team, which was once the world champion, could not get out of the group this time: it was limited to one draw and two defeats.

Of course, playoff matches have their own uniqueness - one mistake, one episode can decide the fate of the game. Therefore, teams are expected to play more cautiously. In such cases, the psychological factor also comes to the fore, and of course, the home field factor can play a decisive role for Azerbaijani football players.

Only two teams scored the maximum points in the group stage - Portugal and Serbia. They won all three games they played. In particular, the Portuguese showed high productivity: they scored 13 goals and conceded only 2 goals. As a result, the Portuguese Tiago leads the scoring race with 6 goals.

Quite unique teams took part in the play-off stage. For example, Georgia performed confidently in the group and defeated Argentina by five goals.

A somewhat unexpected result was Bosnia and Herzegovina taking first place in their group. Poland, Kazakhstan and the USA were also in this group. After the victory over the Americans, the Bosnians were limited to two draws, and this result was enough for them to lead the group. Kazakhstan was only one point behind Poland, who took second place.

The schedule of the 1/8 final stage is arranged in such a way that all games will take place in two days. This means that all 1/4 finalists will be known close to midnight tomorrow. We hope that the Azerbaijan national team will be among them.
