Zinedine Zidane, former midfielder of Juventus, Real Madrid and the French national team, as well as former head coach of Real Madrid, has revealed the reason for his decision to leave football at the age of 34. The famous Frenchman made a statement about this to La Gazzetta dello Sport:
"When I decided to end my career after the game against Villarreal, it was a thought-out move. I no longer enjoyed traveling and staying in hotels. Even when playing at home, you still had to go to a hotel. That's why I ended my professional career at the age of 34. Physically, I could have continued for another two or three years, but all these travels and training had begun to tire me."
It should be noted that Zidane has been unemployed since leaving the post of head coach of Real Madrid in 2021. He is expected to take over as head coach of the French national team next year.
