"For the "PRO" category coaching courses, we were required to gain experience in one of the foreign teams. For this reason, I had an internship with the head coach of the Turkish club "Başakşehir", Nuri Şahin, and at the "Beşiktaş" academy." These words were said by "Zaqatala" head coach Rustam Mammadov in an interview with Sport24.az.
The specialist shared his thoughts on his trip to Turkey within the framework of "PRO" category coaching courses:
"We had a sincere conversation with Nuri Şahin. He is a kind person. I was watching his training from the side, he approached and met with me. Since he also has European experience, I received a lot of advice from him. We had discussions about what he wants from his team and his goals. Thank you, he said you can come whenever you need to. They welcomed and saw me off very well."
The head coach also emphasized that he then went to the "Beşiktaş" football academy:
"I saw the same welcome there. They answered any questions I had in my head very well. The difference between the academies of Azerbaijan and Turkey is in finance. If we can think about one season and do something, they look more to the future."
