"Zaqatala" failed in its search for a sponsor

"The leadership's meeting with the sponsor did not take place," said Rustam Mammadov, the head coach of "Zaqatala," in a statement to Sport24.az.

According to reports in the press, Vugar Gurbanov, the chairman of TƏBİB, is in talks with 2-3 companies to support the club. The expert also commented on this news:

"Probably, there will be no meeting after this either. The situation will remain as it was last year. I have already signed a new contract. Shaban Shirdanov went to Baku for a meeting. After he returns, we will talk face to face and clarify the issue. I cannot say that TƏBİB will be our sponsor. Yes, Chairman Vugar Gurbanov is in talks with some 2-3 companies to support the team."

Mammadov also emphasized that they could not form the team due to the lack of budget determination:

"There is no news regarding the team's squad. Yesterday, we played a bilateral game among ourselves. Now we have released the players for a 3-day rest. If there is any information within 3 days, we will contact the players and discuss contract issues. We are waiting for news from the management regarding the budget. Ilkin Girtimov is also waiting for us. A lot depends on the amount offered to him. If the offer satisfies him, we will sign a contract."

It should be noted that "Zaqatala" finished the 2024/2025 season in fifth place with 34 points.
