– You couldn't earn points in the home game against "Sabah". How would you comment on the result?
– This was our first home game of the current season. We wanted to make our fans happy. But unfortunately, we couldn't do it.
– Did the early goal play a role in the defeat? Did the team feel discouraged after conceding a goal in the 1st minute?
– Of course, it had an impact. But we were able to get back into the game. This is football, everything changes in a minute. In any case, you shouldn't get discouraged, you need to play until the end. True, we lost the home game against "Sabah". But the season is long, and we will do our best to win in the next matches.
– "Sabah" striker Joy-Lens Mikels played an important role in his team's victory by scoring 2 goals in this match. By the way, he distinguished himself by getting ahead of you during the first goal. Is it very difficult to play against Mikels?
– You're right, it was my mistake in the first goal. Mikels acted faster than me at that moment. I should have acted more agilely. I apologize to our team and our fans for that mistake. As for Mikels, he is a very good football player. But he scored because I made a mistake at that moment.
– "Shamakhi" made a better impression in the second half. What did head coach Aykhan Abbasov tell you players during the break, what instructions did he give so that we saw "Shamakhi" playing better in the second half?
– I can say that the coach encouraged us, told us what we needed. As a result, we started playing more aggressively after the break.
– You will be visiting "Sumgayit" in the next round. Does the fact that the opponent has collected maximum points after two rounds scare you? How do you assess the chances?
– We respect every opponent. "Sumgayit" is a good team. We have to go to every game like it's the last game, only then will there be a result.
– So far, Karim Rossi and Diogo Balau, who were transferred in the summer, seem to be more active. Have they and other new transfers been able to add extra strength to your team?
– Our new players are gradually getting used to the championship. The Azerbaijani championship is very good. In this sense, newcomers need to adapt to the league. I am sure that each of them will be able to show themselves very well during the season.
