Vagif Sadigov: "Qarabag" will maintain its identity and fight to the end in the UEFA CL

"Regardless of the opponents, I believe that Gurban Gurbanov's team will be fully prepared and will try to please their fans in every game."

Idman.biz reports that Vagif Sadigov, chairman of the AFFA Coaches Committee, said this in his statement to Telegraf while evaluating Qarabag's opponents in the UEFA Champions League.

According to Sadigov, the games against the TOP-5 league representatives will be difficult: "There are opponents we are already familiar with. We will have difficult games with "Chelsea", "Liverpool", "Napoli". This is both a responsible and glorious tournament. In these games, "Qarabag" will fight to the end without losing its identity. We have faced all the teams that will come to Baku before. Some returned with victory, some with defeat. Although we lost to "Ajax" in the main stage of the UEFA Conference League last season (0:3 - ed.), we played much better than them."

He said that "Qarabag" is a wise team: "I think that we are currently seeing a completely different "Qarabag" team. Now, not only on the field, but also the result on the scoreboard corresponds to the game of "Qarabag". I believe that regardless of the opponent, we will see a team focused on winning with the support of the fans. I would not like to single out opponents. We have defeated "Copenhagen" before, but a lot of time has passed and both they and "Qarabag" have changed a lot. I believe that interesting games await us. I believe that we will score points starting from home games."

Vaqir Sadıqov also spoke about the possible transfers of "stallions": "I think that if new players come, they will need time to adapt to the team. Everyone wants the transfer of a new striker, but Nariman Akhundzade was able to show himself from a good side. A player who can compete with him should be transferred, but we need Nariman to play more. He must stay in shape so that he can help the national team in the upcoming games."

It should be noted that "Qarabag" will face "Liverpool" (England), "Benfica" (Portugal), "Napoli" (Italy) and "Athletic" (Spain) away, and "Chelsea" (England), "Eintracht" (Germany), "Ajax" (Netherlands) and "Copenhagen" (Denmark) at home in the main stage of the UEFA Champions League.
