"Each of us grew up with "Neftchi" and breathes with this club. We are eagerly waiting for the days when it will soon regain its former glory."
These words were said by Vagif Sadigov, chairman of the AFFA Coaches Committee, while talking about "Neftchi"'s performance this season.
The former football player and head coach of the "black and whites" stated that the Baku representative could not demonstrate a stable game: "In some matches, "Neftchi" makes a good impression, and performs willingly on the field. But sometimes something doesn't work out, shortcomings come to light. Nevertheless, we do not lose hope and believe that we will see the former strong "Neftchi" again. This team will again fight for the highest places in the national championship in the future," he said in a statement to AZERTAC.
V. Sadigov also touched upon the rumors about the dismissal of head coach Samir Abasov: "It would not be correct to express an opinion, since there is no official decision on this issue at the moment. We hope that the club management will take the right step. I am sure that this decision will have a positive result both in terms of the team's development and the expectations of the fans."
According to the expert, although "Neftchi" has a good squad, it takes some time for results: "This season, a number of high-quality foreign football players have been attracted to the team. However, it takes some time for the players to fully adapt to each other. The main issue is not individual, but building a team game. This requires patience and time."
It should be noted that after 12 rounds, "Neftchi" is in the 8th place with 15 points in the Misli Premier League table.
