Brazilian club "Botafogo" was forced to end negotiations regarding the transfer of Julio Romao, who plays for the Hungarian team "Ferencváros". Sport24.az reports with reference to the local press that the Serie A representative's plan to add the football player to its squad has failed.
"Botafogo" management sent three offers to the Hungarians. All of them were for the player's loan with the right to purchase. However, "Ferencváros" only agreed to a one-time sale.
Former "Qarabağ" player Julio Romao also reacted positively to this transfer. But he didn't get his wish.
"Botafogo" had previously wanted to transfer "Qarabağ" player Pedro Bikalyon as well. Several offers from the club did not satisfy the Azerbaijani champion. In the end, head coach Gurban Gurbanov decided that the midfielder would stay in the team at least until the end of the season.
It should be noted that Romao, who played for "Qarabağ" since 2022, left the team at the beginning of last year.
