Idman.biz reports that Azerbaijani national team player Toral Bayramov said while talking about the result of the game against Ukraine in the qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.

He noted that the main goal of the players in the national team was to fight for points.

"I think that today we were doing not what we could, but what we couldn't. That's who we are. With this, we showed that we can further improve our game and achieve better success with such a fight," Bayramov said.

Not wanting to comment on the reasons for the defeat in the first game against Iceland, the player simply stated that he saw a fighting spirit in the players on the field in the match against Ukraine: "We looked at each other and became motivated. That's what we needed."

Avoiding the question about the national team's former head coach Fernandu Santuş, the player said that he did not want to talk about the past.
