At the end of last season, Carles Planchart left Pep Guardiola's assistant post. They have worked together in "Barcelona", "Bavaria" and "Manchester City" since 2007.
Lent.az reports that the "Sport" newspaper published an interview with the Spaniard's former assistant. Planchat explained the differences between the three clubs and why Pep is unlikely to return to "Barcelona".
"In "Manchester City" you see that the people in the club, the people around, the fans - they are all connected to it. Of course, there are those who disagree with this, but when they appear, they become part of their team and defend it to the end. I saw this years ago when I visited Benitez in Liverpool. In "City", too, we had a family? Ferran Soriano and Chiki".
The journalist immediately asked if that was the reason why Guardiola did not want to return to "Barcelona".
"It's his decision and he has to take responsibility for it, but I clearly understand that this is why he spent so many years in "City". They treated us like family. They allowed us to work as if we were at home. He felt differently in "Barcelona" or "Bavaria".
Last November, Guardiola extended his contract with the "cityzens" until 2027. So could this season be Pep's last season at Manchester City?
"It's his personal decision. I think the project should last five or six years, no more. But not for him, for everyone. After that, it needs to be restored. As a friend, I would advise him to look for a new project. Because he still has a lot to achieve".
