Former head coach of Madrid "Real" Xabi Alonso called his dismissal unfounded and a wrong decision.

After the Spanish Super Cup match against "Barcelona", which ended with a score of 2:3, Alonso was invited to the club's training base. There he met with the CEO of "Real" Jose Angel Sanchez. During the meeting, the specialist was informed that the cooperation was terminated.
Alonso emphasized that he strongly disagrees with this decision, calling it unfair and wrong. He attributed the reasons for his resignation to the system that exists within the club and is characterized as the "power culture of the Galacticos".
It should be noted that Xabi Alonso was appointed head coach of the Madrid representative on June 1, 2025. At the time of his resignation, "Real" was second in the La Liga standings and seventh in the Champions League.
