A scandal erupted in the match between Krasnodar and Akhmat (Grozny), which was held as part of the 11th round of the Russian Premier League.
Idman.biz reports that Eduard Spertsyan, the captain of the home team and a member of the Armenian national team, racially insulted Usman N'Dong, the Senegalese footballer of the opponent.
After this insult, the 26-year-old defender hit the Armenian footballer and was penalized with a red card.
In a statement after the game, E. Spertsyan stated that he did not insult N'Dong and did not agree with the allegations.
The 25-year-old midfielder is expected to be penalized with a 10-game ban by the Russian Football Federation for racism.
