The 67-year-old specialist has been at the helm of the "Azzurri" youth team since the summer of 2025. Under his leadership, the Italian national team won seven out of eight matches in the UEFA Euro U-21 qualifying round, losing only to group leader Poland, and is currently in second place in the qualifying round.
It should be noted that the head coach of the Italian national team, Gennaro Gattuso, has officially resigned. Prior to this, Gabriele Gravina resigned as president of the Italian Football Federation, and Gianluigi Buffon resigned as head of the Italian national team delegation.
