Shelbourne Head Coach: "We will approach the game against "Qarabag" as an underdog winning"

Shelbourne head coach Joey O'Brien attended a press conference before the first match of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League against Qarabag in Ireland. Sport24.az reports that the specialist attracted attention with his interesting statement. 

He said that he watched the hockey match of the local team at the weekend: 

"The underdog team won. We will approach the game against "Qarabag" in the same way. The main thing for me is that we don't regret the European Cup games. This is a moment in a player's career that you have to enjoy. Since it is a home game, we have to create a good atmosphere, move forward and force the opponent to retreat. I want my team to play in attack and show their quality."

The Irish coach said that the course of the game will depend on the situation of "Qarabag": "Unlike us, it is their first game in the new season. "Qarabag" was only in training camp in Austria.

O'Brien added that the ticket to the next stage will bring financial income to Shelbourne: "This is a great opportunity for a club like us. Winning a Champions League game is a great event for a football player. We are now competing against "Qarabag" because we were able to pass "Linfield" (Northern Ireland) in the first qualifying round."
