Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido Carrasco stated at an official press conference after the transfer window closed that the Andalusian club has a debt of 66 million euros.
Idman.biz reports that Carrasco said that despite the debt, the club is pursuing a responsible transfer policy.
"Some players like Sou, Januzaj and Marcao changed their contracts to help their teammates, and we thank them. We are happy because the financial situation is improving, we have reduced our net debt to 66 million euros, we have a new sports management, a new coaching staff and seven new transfers," the president said.
Recall that last season, the Andalusian club finished 17th in the Spanish Championship table, only 1 point ahead of the relegated Leaganes.
