"It is gratifying that our national team started the tournament confidently, and we hope that this successful performance will continue in the final match as well."
Idman.biz reports that this was stated by AFFA Executive Vice-President Sarkhan Hajiyev in his statement to journalists.
He noted that he expects a gold medal from the national team:
"Such tournaments are of great importance for young football players. They are the professional athletes of the future, and by participating in these competitions, they gain both experience and confidence. The successes achieved create additional motivation for the next tournaments. Our team has prepared seriously, and the AFFA leadership has given special instructions. In this regard, we believe that we will show good results in the final as well."
The AFFA official also drew attention to Azerbaijan's growing reputation in the international arena:
"The fact that Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan will host the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup is a great responsibility and at the same time a sign of trust. This decision demonstrates FIFA's confidence in our country. We are sure that those games will also be organized at a high level."
It should be noted that the III CIS Games will end on October 8.
