Sanan Gurbanov apologized to fans after the defeat to "Zira"

"Neftchi" lost to "Zira" with a score of 0:1 in the 1/8 final stage of the Azerbaijan Cup and stopped the fight in the tournament. Sport24.az reports that the coach of "Agh-Garalar" Sanan Gurbanov answered journalists' questions at the press conference held after the match:

- We had analyzed "Zira". We told the players about the opponent's weak and strong sides. We didn't have time to train. We paid more attention to the restoration of the players. We were able to prevent the opponent's attacks, and our attacks were also dangerous. The goal we conceded shortly before the end of 120 minutes was upsetting. Our fans showed very good support. I apologize to them.

- Did the team have to concede a goal for Cordan Rezabala to enter the field?

- The game was going in such a way that it was difficult to make a change. We didn't want to take a player out of the midfield. Both of them were playing well. After conceding a goal, we released Rezabala onto the field.

- Bassala Sambu was not effective on the flank. Why did you play him in the same position again?

- "Zira" is more dangerous on the flanks. Sambu is a hardworking football player. He got a yellow card, we changed him. We were afraid that we would be left with 10 people.

- What is the reason for "Neftchi"'s failure? Is Vargas told in training that football is a team game? 

- I wasn't there when the team was assembled. We are a team of good players. I put the players I knew and knew onto the field. We hold meetings more often. Of course, we say that we must attack and defend as a team. True, we conceded a goal after losing the ball. It's an upsetting moment. We have no choice but to focus on the championship.
