"I agree with the idea that there is no winning spirit in the national team. Footballers are defeated before they even take the field." These words were said by Samir Musayev in his statement to Sport24.az.
The former striker of the Azerbaijani national team considers the match against Hungary to be a turning point for our national team:
"One or two experienced players are trying to do something, but that is not enough. Footballers must understand the responsibility of the flag they wear on their uniforms. They must understand what the national team means. We believe that at least we will see this today in the test match against Hungary. Today's opponent is stronger than Latvia, which we faced a few days ago. Being the home team can give us an advantage. Let's hope that Fernando Santos will finally manage to win his first victory with the Azerbaijani national team. The match with the Hungarians should be a turning point. Footballers must restore the people's faith in the national team."
