Sahib Mammadov: "The beach soccer team fulfilled its main mission at the European Championship"

The Azerbaijani national beach soccer team has fulfilled one of its main missions by reaching the semi-finals of the final stage of the European Championship.

This was stated to "Report" by the head coach of the national team, Sahib Mammadov.

He said that they want to defeat Romania in the semi-finals to win a ticket to Division A:

"We lost to Lithuania with a score of 1:2. But regardless of the result of this game, we fulfilled one of the main missions and qualified for the semi-finals. If we had lost, we would have met with Kazakhstan. We won, our opponent was Romania and we will face them tomorrow. Both teams are almost at the same level. It is the most important game, we need to win in order to get a ticket to both the final and Division A."

The expert also said that they could not take advantage of many goal situations in the match with Lithuania:

"Thank God, our players were neither injured nor saw a red card. Although we had many goal opportunities in the match with Lithuania, we could not take advantage of them. We had faced Lithuania before and almost the same scenario happened. We could not evaluate the attacks and lost. Tomorrow we must fulfill the biggest mission and qualify for the final."

It should be noted that the national team lost to Lithuania with a score of 1:2, but qualified for the semi-finals. The team defeated Belgium 5:4 the previous day.
