"Of course, I regret that the team was relegated to the First League." These words were said by Sabail player Jabir Amirli to Sport24.az.
The 28-year-old winger shared his thoughts on the Baku representative's farewell to the Azerbaijan Premier League:
"There are ups and downs and successful periods in sports. Although Sabail is a relatively young club, it also had the opportunity to play in European Cups. Two seasons ago, we were also in the relegation zone. But then we managed to stay in the championship. We are saddened that it didn't work out this time."
He spoke about missing most of the season due to injury: "Although I couldn't help the club on the field, I was with my teammates during the season and didn't spare my support."
The football player said the following about his future career:
"I have now completed the recovery process and started active training. There is interest from some clubs. I think I have time to evaluate the offers. Although the injury has set me back, I have a fighting spirit. Regardless of which team I play for, I will give my full strength on the field."
Amirli also shared his thoughts on the possibility of staying in Sabail: "I have played in this team for the last four seasons. It has already become like home to me. Of course, if there is a suitable offer, I am ready to negotiate. The main thing for me is constant playing practice."
