"Sabah" U-19 team conceded goals due to individual mistakes in the first match of the II qualifying round of the UEFA Youth League against "Nantes" in France.
Head coach of the team, Adino Mustedanagiç, told "Report" about this.
The specialist said that the opponent is a well-established club with great traditions:
"Although the main team of this club has not performed at the desired level for some time, its academy is considered one of the best. There was great interest in this match in Nantes. The stadium was completely full during the game. To succeed in such matches, several factors play a key role - maximizing performance both psychologically and tactically at the team and individual level, as well as a little luck. Unfortunately, we conceded a goal very early - in the 3rd minute - due to an individual mistake. We also conceded the next 3 goals after individual mistakes".
The head coach admitted that the result was bad:
"In any case, the result is really bad. But the first 2 goals came from a corner, and the next 2 goals came from simple mistakes. We only conceded the 5th goal after the opponent's tactical attack. The main problem in this game was that we could not put pressure on the opponent and manage the ball well, especially in transition moments. The physical strength of the opponent's players forced us to gain a numerical advantage in the zone close to them, which caused our block in defense to be lower. We prepared for the game as much as possible. Last week, we had a friendly match with our main team, which gave the team a better understanding of the match. But it was difficult to completely replicate the field and weather conditions we faced. In this match, our players tried to implement the game plan as much as possible. French players have hundreds of such game experiences. For some of our players, this was the first such experience. We must learn the maximum lessons from such games for future matches".
It should be noted that the return match between "Sabah" and "Nantes" will be held on November 5 at "Bank Respublika Arena".
