The club management and the head coach consulted and made this decision. This is their right. No one can say, why did you do that? I wouldn't say that Neftchi made a mistake. It was possible to help, but you can't force them to do it. I don't defend either side. If there is no agreement, Qarabağ is obliged to go out and play. There is no other option," he said in a statement to futbolinfo.az.
The veteran football player also stated that Neftchi's chances of winning the derby are high in such a case:
