The first goal is always memorable for a football player, and I value it as an important step in my career.
Idman.biz reports that these words were said by Azerbaijani football player Rufat Abdullazade, who plays for the Croatian club "Varazdin", in his statement to AZERTAC while talking about the first goal he scored in his team.
The 24-year-old player stated that the match they won 7:1 against "Gay Mache" in the Croatian Cup was very important for him: "Because I scored my first goal in official matches in Europe. Starting the game in the main squad and scoring an early goal gave me extra confidence. Although the opponent is not a strong team, this goal is a starting point for me."
He emphasized that he felt responsible from the moment he entered the field: "Frankly, there was no excitement. Playing in the main squad for the first time was very important for me. As I entered the game, I started to feel the rhythm, and my teammates always supported me. In addition to the goal, my movement on the field, my off-ball game and the support I gave to the defense were also important. Because the job doesn't end with just scoring a goal. The main thing is to adapt to the team's game system. Scoring a goal in this game was of particular importance to me. Because I assisted against "Dinamo Zagreb" last week, and we have another big club — "Hayduk" waiting for us ahead. For this reason, this goal was very valuable both in terms of showing myself and increasing my confidence."
It should be noted that Rufat Abdullazade's contract with "Varazdin" is until the summer of 2028.
