There is regret in Germany regarding the Turkish footballer Can Uzun, who plays for Eintracht Frankfurt.
According to İdman.biz, Rudi Völler, the sporting director of the German Football Association, is impressed with the 19-year-old striker's performance but feels regret about him.
The Federation tried for a long time to persuade Can Uzun to join the German national team, but he chose the Turkish national team in 2024.
"I watch him on television every week, and my eyes fill with tears. That's exactly what we expected from him. He's a fantastic player. Of course, I'm a little upset, but I'm also proud," said Völler.
Völler noted that Can Uzun had a very difficult time choosing a national team: "We had a very good meeting with his father and manager. He really hesitated a lot. But in the end, he made his choice. We must respect that."
Can, who has played in 8 matches for Eintracht this season, has scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists.
