Russian businessman Roman Abramovich is working on a plan to acquire a controlling stake in the "Galatasaray" club.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to the Turkish media that since the club is currently managed by a foundation, "Galatasaray"'s assets cannot be sold to individuals or foreign investors.
A sale is possible only if the foundation itself makes a decision on this. It is reported that this is why Abramovich will have to prefer indirect forms of cooperation. For example, cooperation is possible through sponsorship agreements, infrastructure partnerships or joint projects with the club's commercial companies. In this case, the investor will act as a strategic partner, not as a direct shareholder.
If this option is implemented, Roman Abramovich will become a key figure in "Galatasaray", the hegemon of the Super League in recent years. According to reports, Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov may also join this club on loan in the future, "Galatasaray" was interested in him in the last transfer window.
