Robert Jarni: "Zira" is a team that shows itself well on the field

Interview of Robert Jarni, former football player of the Croatian national team and "Hajduk", who played for famous clubs such as Juventus of Italy and Real Madrid of Spain during his career, to AZERTAC

- "Hajduk" will face the Azerbaijani representative "Zira" in the Conference League. How do you assess the chances in this game?

- Currently, "Hajduk's" situation is not ideal. Several players have left the team and the squad is being rebuilt. It is difficult to say in advance how they will perform. There are new players, and adaptation takes time. But there is still time, let's see what happens, who will be ready to play. The situation is not like it was a year or two ago, everyone expects better results than last year, but only time will tell.

- Do you have any information about "Zira"?

- To be honest, I don't have much detailed information. But I have heard that "Zira" is a team that shows itself well on the field. However, we will see who is stronger on the field during the game.

- Do you know Rashad Sadigov, the head coach of the Azerbaijani representative? He is remembered for his performance in the Azerbaijani national team and "Garabagh"...

- Unfortunately, I don't know him. But I would like to meet him.

- What do you know about Azerbaijani football?

- I haven't worked for any club for a while, but Robert Prosinecki, who worked for the Azerbaijani national team, told me a lot about your football. According to him, the clubs are well organized and the players give themselves fully to the game when they are on the field.

- "Garabagh" has been performing successfully in European Cups in recent years. What can you say about this team?

I watched one of "Garabagh's" games. The Azerbaijani representative is making a good name for itself in Europe. Indeed, it is not easy for other rivals to face "Garabagh".

- If you received a job offer from Azerbaijan, would you accept it?

- Of course, why not?

- It is interesting, which of the Azerbaijani clubs would you like to work for?

- It is difficult to name a specific club at the moment, because I do not know all the teams closely. But my colleagues working in Azerbaijan have said that local football players do their best when they take the field and play with great effort to win.
