The refereeing team appointed for the Azerbaijan-France match in Baku previously officiated the final game of the Armenian Cup.
According to Idman.Biz, the upcoming match will be managed by a team led by Latvian referee Andris Treimanis. He will be assisted by assistant referees Haralds Gudermanis and Aleksejs Spasennikovs.
Interestingly, the same team officiated the final of the Armenian Cup held in Yerevan on May 13, 2023, including the match between "Shirak" and "Urartu".
Latvian referees have also officiated matches of the Armenian national team. Treimanis has previously worked in Armenia - Romania (3:2, March 31, 2021, World Cup-2022 qualifying round), Armenia - Montenegro (1:0, March 24, 2022, friendly game), as well as Armenia U21 - Andorra U21 (4:1, U21 European Championship qualifying round) matches.
Treimanis is also well acquainted with Azerbaijani football. He has judged in Germany - Azerbaijan (5:1, October 8, 2017, World Cup-2018 qualifying round), Azerbaijan - Belarus (0:1, March 23, 2018, friendly game), as well as BATE - "Qarabağ" (1:1, August 14, 2018) matches held in the Champions League qualifying stage.
The referee has also worked in matches of youth teams: Azerbaijan U21 - Israel U21 (3:0, U21 European Championship qualifying round), Azerbaijan U17 - Ukraine U17 (0:0) and Croatia U17 - Azerbaijan U17 (2:1, U17 European Championship qualifying round) games were also held under his management.
His experience with France is also quite extensive. Treimanis previously officiated the Luxembourg - France (1:3, March 25, 2017, World Cup-2018 qualifying round) match, as well as games involving various youth teams, including Ukraine U19 – France U19 (1:3, U19 European Championship final stage, 2015).
