The Azerbaijan national football team needs a win to restore confidence.
This was stated by the former midfielder of the national team, Rashad Abdullayev, in an interview with "Report".
"I watched both games. I can say that Latvia was a suitable opponent for us. Despite playing away, we still couldn't win. Hungary is a strong, experienced team. We would have liked to see a win at home, even though it wasn't an official match. Perhaps the coaches wanted to look more at the strengths and weaknesses of the team in these games," said the 43-year-old expert.
He emphasized the importance of the team showing determination:
"There was a bit of fatigue in the game with Hungary. The players seemed willing. The team needs a win to restore confidence. I can't say anything about the tactical plan, that's up to the coaches. But we would like the team to show its determination. As an Azerbaijani, I would like our national team to always delight us with victories. We hope to see good results from the team in official matches."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan national team, led by Fernando Santos, lost to the Hungarian national team 1:2 in Baku yesterday. The match with Latvia on June 7 ended in a goalless draw.
