"It may be a little difficult because we are playing away." These words were said by Rahid Amirguliyev, the former football player of the Azerbaijani national team, in his statement to Sport24.az.
The former member of the national team shared his thoughts on the qualifying match of DC-2026, which the team will play against Iceland today:
"I haven't seen the opponent's games recently. I looked at the approximate results of the last five matches. They have 4 losses and 1 win. I don't know how they play in terms of the game. In terms of results, it's not encouraging for us either."
Amirguliyev touched upon the possibility of the Azerbaijani national team winning points away:
"We can play normal football against this opponent. We can win or lose. But I think we should try to play well. It will be very difficult on the road. The home owners will also come out for victory. I think our team should play comfortably and confidently. We have nothing to lose. At least we can play well and return from the trip with a point."
It should be noted that today's Iceland-Azerbaijan game will start at 22:45.
