"Qualifying for the Champions League league stage is a victory not only for "Qarabag" but for all of Azerbaijani football." Rahid Amirguliyev said this in his statement to Sport24.az.
The football player, who was part of "Qarabag", which participated in the group stage of the continent's most prestigious club tournament 8 years ago, in the 2017/2018 season, said that he wanted the Spanish giant "Real" Madrid" to come:
"I was very pleased. Our representative will play in the Champions League. 8 years ago, I was also in the squad in the historic match with "Copenhagen". Everyone would like our clubs to participate in a prestigious tournament every year. So far, only "Qarabag" can do this. Hopefully, other clubs will participate in such huge tournaments in the future. There is no weak opponent in the Champions League. I am a fan of "Real". I would like the Madrid club to come to our country. Participation in that league is a great thing in itself. It is wonderful to welcome such big clubs in our country, to play against them. They have everything that football needs. This will be a great experience for Azerbaijani football, especially for "Qarabag"."
It should be noted that the draw to be held in the administrative building in Monaco will start at 20:00 Baku time. Azerbaijani champion "Qarabag" will be in the fourth basket in the draw.
