"In the first game of the season, the opponent was one of the ambitious clubs in the championship. We knew a tough game awaited the team." These words were said to Sport24.az by Rahid Amirguliyev, president and captain of the First League representative "Shahdag Gusar".
The experienced footballer commented on his team's victory over MOIK and starting the season with 3 points:
"As you know, our club had problems before the championship. The sponsorship issue was in question. It was not easy to find players because the footballers had signed contracts with other clubs. Therefore, the team is not fully ready for the championship. That is, the squad was assembled late. Thankfully, our coaching staff worked hard and were able to attract players to the team. True, our squad is not large. Most of the players are young and promising. I believe we will see some of those players in the Premier League in the future. I cannot be dissatisfied with the winning team. We were cautious, thankfully the result was as we wanted in the end. What to be satisfied or dissatisfied with in terms of the game is the job of the head coach. I have no complaints."
It should be noted that "Shahdag Gusar" defeated MOIK 2:1 away in the first round.
