Today, "Qarabagh", which played its next match in the UEFA Champions League, faced "Shkëndija". The Aghdam representative managed to win 1:0 in North Macedonia with a goal scored in the first half. Sport24.az reports that after the match, the head coach of Aghdam, Gurban Gurbanov, answered journalists' questions at the press conference:
- I thank my players for fighting to the end. Of course, we had technical mistakes. But we managed to play for the result. Good words can be said about the opposing team. They proved that their previous 2 wins were not accidental. In any case, returning with a victory against such a team in such a game is a great advantage, but we must be more careful and serious in Baku.
- There were more than 20,000 fans in the stadium. What are your thoughts on this atmosphere?
- The beauty of football is the fans. Such an atmosphere in such a stadium made the game even more beautiful. "Shkëndija" was even more motivated in this atmosphere. We played in this stadium a few years ago, but we had never encountered such fan support.
- Do you agree with the idea that Kadi Borges made a weak impression today?
- Maybe he made a weak impression in some episodes. But we shouldn't discuss this today, because we need to consider the strength of the opponent. The opposing defenders paid more attention to him. Every player cannot play at the same level for 90 minutes.
- Many Albanian football players play in Azerbaijan. Are there any players from those players and from the "Shkëndija" squad that you would like to see in "Qarabagh"?
- I have had many Albanian football players in my team. The first ones that come to mind are Ansi Agolli and Admir Teli. They were both valuable people and good players to me. In general, football players from the Balkan countries have always had a strong character. It would not be right for me to express an opinion about any player from the "Shkëndija" squad.
