A protest action against the deportation of migrant workers was held near the "Camp Nou" stadium.
İdman.Biz reports this with reference to Marca.
According to reports, the protest was organized by the "CCOO del Habitat" trade union to draw attention to the dismissal and deportation of approximately 50 undocumented workers in Spain, including those working on the reconstruction of the stadium. According to the trade union, the employer intends to return Turkish workers without any guarantees.
"Some of them have been working seven days a week, twelve hours a day for more than a year. The workers are undocumented and are being fired with the intention of sending them back to their country.
From the moment they set foot on Turkish soil, their ability to defend themselves will be severely undermined. "Barcelona" does not want to hear all these problems," said Carlos del Barrio, head of "CCOO del Habitat" in Catalonia.
The trade union demands the legalization of workers, as well as the activation of the extraordinary legalization mechanism provided for in immigration regulations. The Labor Inspectorate has already been informed about the current situation.
