"Qarabag" football club, which qualified for the main stage of the UEFA Champions League, has not made any official request to hold its matches at the Olympic Stadium."
Idman.biz reports that this was stated by Farid Asadzade, director of the Baku Olympic Stadium, in an interview with Oxu.Az.
"Currently, the stadium does not have a grass cover. The reason for this is the COP29 event held in Baku last year. The grass cover has not been restored at the stadium after that event. Since the winter months were harsh this year, we did not carry out restoration work either. Later, we decided not to restore the grass cover because we knew that a large-scale event would be held at the stadium in July. The "Qarabag" club has not yet made an official request for games at the Olympic Stadium. If a request is made, official information will be provided on this issue. In general, it is impossible to say whether the stadium will be ready by that time," said F. Asadzade.
It should be noted that "Qarabag"'s opponents in the main stage of the UEFA Champions League will be known after the draw ceremony to be held today at 20:00 Baku time.
