Pep Guardiola's restaurant, the head coach of the English team "Manchester City", is closing. "Tast Catala", located in the center of Manchester - "King Street", will welcome guests for the last time this Saturday.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to "The Sun" that the restaurant's official statement justified the closure decision with "extremely difficult trading conditions and rising costs." The venue has been one of Guardiola's main addresses for hosting club management and new transfers for the past seven years.
"Tast Catala" was founded in 2018 by Pep Guardiola, "Manchester City" CEO Ferran Soriano and sports director Txiki Begiristain together with famous Spanish chef Paco Perez. The restaurant aimed to bring Catalan cuisine to Manchester.
According to media reports, the main reasons for the closure include new budget decisions in Great Britain, increased business taxes, increased wages, energy costs and decreased consumer spending. In particular, it is reported that the restaurant and pub sector will pay an average of 76 percent more business fees.
It should be noted that "Tast Catala" has a capacity of 120 people on three floors and is distinguished by its high-end menu. The restaurant's last service day is December 20, and unused vouchers will be automatically refunded.
