An interview with Orkhan Aliyev, who moved to Kyrgyzstan's "Ozgon" club after leaving "Turan Tovuz", for Sportal.az
- Why didn't you stay in "Turan Tovuz"? Although this club paid a transfer fee to "Kapaz" for you in the winter. Could you have stayed in "Turan Tovuz"?
- Of course, I could easily have stayed in "Turan Tovuz". Because I had another year of contract with the club. It was my decision.
- Did Kurban Berdiyev trust you enough, or did he not give you much of a chance and you left because you didn't play much?
- Perhaps, my transition to "Turan Tovuz" was not so successful. But Kurban Berdiyev is one of the best specialists I want to work with. Unfortunately, in football, everything may not always go as you want. But let me tell you that I consulted with him before making a choice. He said very good things about me. Which motivates me even more. I thank Kurban Berdiyev for his understanding.
- How do you think, will "Turan Tovuz" be able to qualify for the European Cups this season?
- I hope that "Turan Tovuz" will qualify for the European Cups this season. I wish them success.
- Your transfer to Kyrgyzstan's "Ozgon" club has been realized. What will you say about the transfer? Was the offer only from the Kyrgyz club?
- No, I also received offers from Azerbaijani clubs. But the conditions did not suit. There were also invitations from other clubs in Kyrgyzstan. My manager Gvanzav Magomedov offered the option of moving to Ozgon. They also interested me with their conditions. Moreover, the club management and coaching staff also wanted to see me in their club. After that, of course, the transition took place.
- What will be the main goal in the Kyrgyz club? Under what conditions did you join this team?
- The team is playing in the top league for the first time. No major goals have been set. But we have a good team. In my opinion, we will show ourselves from the best side until the end of the season.
- The number of Azerbaijani football players who went to Kyrgyzstan this summer has increased. What do you think this is related to? Do Kyrgyz clubs trust Azerbaijani football players so much?
- You can see how many Azerbaijanis have come to Kyrgyzstan. Which they can show themselves here from the best side. This is a good chance for them. As you know, almost all football players are brought here by my manager and close friend Gvanzav Magomedov.
- What do you think about the level of Kyrgyz football, the level of the championship? Is it lower than Azerbaijan?
- If we compare the level of Azerbaijani and Kyrgyz football, Kyrgyz football is still behind. But football is developing very rapidly here and I think that there will be a good level of football here soon. The President of Kyrgyzstan and the head of the Kyrgyz Football Federation pay great attention to the development of football. Look, there were 10 teams in the top league last season, this season there are 14. It is expected that there will be 16 clubs from the new season. There is no need to talk about this, everything is obvious.
- You scored a goal in your debut match against the "Asiaqol" team, and you won the match 2:0. What will you say about this?
- I am happy that I scored a goal in my debut match. We won, which is a special joy. But everything is just beginning. I still have a lot of work to do on myself. Because I have big goals. You can't stop there. You have to work and look forward. Everything will work out.
