Fuad Najafli, the authorized representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, met with the football players and coaching staff of "Araz-Nakhchivan". Sport24.az reports that the authorized representative office released this information.
Najafli stated that the team's achievements in recent years, the professionalism and determination it has shown, have opened a proud page in the sports life of the autonomous republic.
The authorized representative, who provided information about the projects implemented within the framework of the "State Program on the socio-economic development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2023-2027", as well as the new master plan of Nakhchivan city, noted that Nakhchivan will completely change in a few years:
"In order for our representative to hold home games on their home field, it is planned to reconstruct the existing stadium, as well as build a new sports complex. The new project will include the most modern sports infrastructure for football players, as well as high living conditions for athletes' families. After these projects are implemented, every player of "Araz-Nakhchivan" will fight for the success of our team on their home field."
Zaur Akhundov, president of the Nakhchivan Football Federation, thanked the football players for their sincere meeting and support, and stated that they will continue to work hard for the development of Nakhchivan football.
Footballers Felipe Santos and Gara Garayev emphasized that the meeting gave the team a high spirit and motivation. Team members noted that Nakhchivan football, which was separated from the country's top league for many years, ended this longing in a short time with great success. Holding home games in front of local fans is important for the development of the team. The players expressed their belief that this problem will be eliminated soon and said that they are looking forward to competing in front of numerous fans.
