Former head coach of "Turan Tovuz" Naci Şensoy shared his thoughts on the current situation of his former team.
Idman.biz reports that the Turkish expert, who gave an interview to Komanda.az, said that he was following "Turan Tovuz".
Congratulating the club's management, Naci Şensoy said that they made it possible for "Turan Tovuz" to have a say in Azerbaijani football again: "It is clear from the fact that the management has brought in a coach like Kurban Berdiyev how big a vision they have.
Yes, they failed to qualify for the European Cups at the last moment last year, but that doesn't mean they won't be able to do it this year either. It is clear that the management of "Turan Tovuz" is planning to work with this coach in the long term. This is also a very correct approach.
But there is another truth, which is the fans of "Turan Tovuz". They may be more emotional and impatient with what is happening! If "Turan Tovuz" fails to meet the expectations of its fans this season, both the management and the head coach may be in a difficult situation.
Personally, I don't have much hope that "Turan Tovuz" will surpass "Qarabağ" and become the champion. But if they at least qualify for the European Cups this year, I would consider it a success. After this is realized, it would be much more logical to gradually raise the goals and play for the championship - that's what I think."
Şensoy was the head coach of the Tovuz representative in 2002-2003 and 2004-2005.
