Romania's national team head coach Mircea Lucescu has become the oldest coach among specialists working with national teams. Sport24.az reports that on September 5, his team lost to Canada with a score of 0:3 in a friendly match.
During the game, Lucescu was 80 years, one month and seven days old. With this, the Romanian specialist also updated the record belonging to Roque Maspoli, who led the Uruguayan national team in 1997. Maspoli was 80 years, 1 month and 4 days old in the match where Uruguay defeated Ecuador 5:3.
It should be noted that the Romanian national team will play its next match against the Cyprus national team on September 9.
