Former "Manchester United" midfielder Michael Carrick is highly likely to take over as interim head coach of the "Red Devils". Insider Fabrizio Romano shared this information on the "X" social media platform, reports Sport24.az.
According to the source, Carrick has held talks with INEOS (the British company controlling "Manchester United" - ed.) and the "Manchester United" management regarding this matter and currently heads the list of candidates for this position.
It is reported that "Manchester United" will announce the name of the new head coach this week. Norwegian coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was previously considered the favorite to become the interim head coach of the "Red Devils", is also awaiting a decision from the management.
It should be noted that the Manchester club announced the separation with Ruben Amorim on January 5. The Portuguese specialist worked at "Manchester United" from November 11, 2024, to January 2026.
