An interview with Hungarian national team striker Martin Adam for AZERTAC
- "Qarabağ" defeated "Ferencváros" 3:1 in the first match. What can you say about this match?
– It was interesting to watch the game because we saw two different halves. In the first half, "Ferencváros" had more opportunities and scored a beautiful goal. In the second half, however, Bense Etvöş was injured, so Aleks Tot had to move to the defensive midfielder position, and this changed the course of the game. "Qarabağ" also took good advantage of this. "Ferencváros"'s three defenders had difficulty stopping "Qarabağ"'s fast and technical wingers. The Azerbaijani champion deservedly won. But there is a return match, nothing is over yet.
– What factors could be decisive in the return match?
– The first goal will be decisive. If "Qarabağ" scores, everything will be almost over. But if "Ferencváros" can score the first goal, then everything will start again. It is important to be patient. "Ferencváros" will have to attack, but at the same time they should not leave too many gaps in defense. Because "Qarabağ"'s fast and technically strong forwards will immediately take advantage of this. This is a very big and difficult task, but it is not impossible.
– In general, I'm interested in your opinions about "Qarabağ"...
– "Qarabağ" is a team with a great history. I know that they have come to this level through difficult paths. They achieve high results. Gurban Gurbanov has been leading the team for 17 years, which is a very rare occurrence in modern football. Everyone knows their responsibility well, and the team has a strong squad that has been formed for many years. The newly arrived players are also of high quality and quickly adapt to the team. I think this is "Qarabağ"'s biggest advantage over "Ferencváros". Because the Hungarian club has a lot of changes in the squad every year.
– Are there any players you like in "Qarabağ"?
– Of course, there are many good players in this team. For example, I can name playmaker Marko Janković, as well as Kadi Borges, who played for "Ferencváros" last season and proved himself. I would also like to especially highlight Kevin Medina. He is reliable in the defensive line and is a true leader.
– What other Azerbaijani clubs do you know?
– Apart from "Qarabağ", I know "Neftchi". Because my compatriot Mark Tamas played there for two seasons.
