"The game didn't go to extra time. That's the main thing".
This was stated by "Qarabağ's" Montenegrin footballer Marko Janković in an interview with sport24.az.
We present the interview.
- You beat "Shamakhi" 3:1 in the return match of the 1/4 final stage of the Azerbaijan Cup. What can you say about the match?
- It was a really good match. We started the game very well. Then we had some problems, but the most important thing is that we started the second half well again and took control of the game. I think we deserved to win. I congratulate my team on this occasion.
- Although you scored the first goal, you conceded a goal. Did this process put pressure on you in the following minutes?
- No. This is normal, such things happen in football. You see how many games we play. Therefore, this is natural. We just have to try not to concede such goals and be even better in the future.
- The opponent failed to take advantage of the penalty in the last minute. Did you think about extra time at that moment?
- The game didn't go to extra time. That's the main thing. The opponent player missed the penalty and that was the end of it. If he had scored, we would have played extra time and fought for the win again. What else can I say about this?
- Which team would you like to face in the semi-finals? "Gabala" or "Sabah"?
- One of these two teams will be our opponent. We will see together. The cup is a special competition and it will be difficult no matter which team we face. Everyone wants to win the cup. But right now, the most important thing for us is the next game in the championship. Because we are a few points behind the leader (ed: "Sabah"). Now our attention is completely focused on this. We will move forward step by step, game by game.
- Currently, "Qarabağ" is fighting in both the Azerbaijan Cup and the Premier League. Is the goal to become champion in both tournaments?
- Of course. That's exactly what we're working for. We will look at our result at the end of the season. There are still many games ahead.
