Last month, under his leadership, the "white-blues" won all three games, defeating Rayo Vallecano (1:0), Getafe (1:0), and Athletic Bilbao (2:1). Hans-Dieter Flick (Barcelona) and Claudio Giraldes (Celta Vigo) also competed for the award.
Espanyol is currently in fifth place in the Spanish top league with 33 points.
Espanyol lost to Barcelona (0:2) in the previous round and will face Levante in the next round.
