Former "Qarabagh" footballer Maksim Medvedev shared his thoughts on the UEFA Champions League semi-final matches and the final.
He made a statement to "Report" about this.
M.Medvedev said that "Inter" (Italy) prepared very well against "Barcelona" (Spain):
"Before the first match between "Inter" and "Barcelona", many people thought that the Spanish club would advance. But the game showed that it would not be easy at all. "Inter" analyzed the opponent very well and prepared for the game. Also, they were not behind in terms of the game. "Barcelona" has strong players individually. But "Inter" showed a very good game collectively, both in attack and defense. The team was fully prepared. For this reason, they were able to surpass their opponent. The second meeting was also very interesting. Such games are great material for analysis".
The former defender also touched upon the other semi-final match between PSG (France) and "Arsenal" (England):
"The French club showed a superior football in a certain sense. Despite the collective game, "Arsenal" could not achieve what they wanted. PSG also has individually good players in the squad who can produce results. They complemented each other both in terms of speed and as a team. I think that's why they were able to beat "Arsenal".
The former captain of the Azerbaijan national team expects the final match between PSG and "Inter" to be interesting:
"There will be a very interesting final between PSG and "Inter". Perhaps many people were not expecting such a final. If "Inter" continues the football they showed against "Barcelona", it will be difficult for PSG. Because it is a team that prefers counter-attacks and open football. In my opinion, "Inter", which shows a collective game, is closer to winning the UEFA Champions League. If PSG's players do something individually, they can score a goal from "Inter"'s goal. We are all looking forward to the final. I expressed my opinions, but time will show how ready the teams will be for the game. I wish both teams success. They deserve to be champions".
It should be noted that in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League, according to the results of two matches, "Inter" defeated "Barcelona" (3:3, 4:3), and PSG defeated "Arsenal" (1:0, 2:1) and advanced to the final. The decisive match between PSG and "Inter" will take place on May 31 in Munich, Germany.
