Former Barcelona and Real Madrid player Luis Figo has called for support for the capital club after Xabi Alonso's dismissal.
Idman.Biz reports that Figo was surprised by Alonso's dismissal in the middle of the season.
"This is the management's risk, and we must support them until the end of the season. This is the club's decision. After all the rumors that have been circulating lately, Alonso's dismissal is no longer that surprising... But Xabi's dismissal was unexpected, because we have only passed half of the season. You wouldn't expect a coach change in this situation. Even after a defeat in such a tournament ("Real Madrid" lost to "Barcelona" in the final of the Spanish Super Cup - ed.). I think that's why Xabi's removal is also surprising.
The priority is to return to normal. In everything. Stability in every sense is important after the coach leaves. Because there is still a long way to go until the end of the season. There are two very important tournaments that Real can win. But they need to improve in all aspects," AS quoted Figo as saying.
Currently, "Los Blancos" are in second place in the La Liga standings with 45 points. They are four points behind leaders Barcelona.
