Liverpool's head coach Arne Slot has assessed the draw for the League stage of the UEFA Champions League.
Idman.biz reports with reference to Sportnet.az that the Dutch specialist said that a very difficult and exciting draw had taken place.
In his opinion, there are no easy opponents in the new format Champions League. The 47-year-old head coach noted that they will have important meetings both at home and away.
Slot assessed the opponents as follows: "It is very special to meet Spain's Real Madrid again at our home stadium, Anfield. Our match last season was unforgettable. I expect the same this time. I am sure the whole world will watch this match. I will always be happy to play against PSV, the Dutch champion for two consecutive years. The same can be said about Galatasaray, who won 3 cups in a row in Turkey, and Qarabag, the champion of Azerbaijan. We will also play against teams such as Italy's Inter, Spain's Atletico Madrid, Germany's Eintracht Frankfurt and France's Olympic Marseille. This shows the strength of the competition."
Liverpool's head coach also emphasized that no game in the Champions League will be easy for them: "This is clear. But I am sure that our fans are looking forward to all the games at Anfield, as well as all the away matches that will be held in large stadiums in front of fanatical and passionate fans. They will enjoy it as much as we do. We have a busy schedule both in local games and in Europe. But we are very enthusiastic and ready for the challenges ahead."
It should be noted that the game schedule will be published on August 30.
