"Liverpool" will pay the family of the late striker Diogo Jota the money he was due to receive under the terms of his contract with the English club.
Idman.biz reports that this was reported by the publication "Record".
The car accident that resulted in Jota's death occurred on July 3. The "Lamborghini", in which the football player was traveling with his brother Andre Silva, lost control due to a tire explosion, drove off the road, crashed into a ditch and caught fire.
Earlier, "Liverpool" announced its intention to perpetuate the number 20 jersey, in which the Portuguese played. The club has also decided to assume the obligation to pay the amount for the remaining two years of the contract with Jota to the footballer's relatives.
Jota had been playing for Liverpool since 2020. During this time, he played 182 matches, scored 65 goals and provided 26 assists. He also made a great contribution to the "Reds" winning the English Championship in the 2024/25 season.
