The press service of "Liverpool" FC has released a statement regarding the injury sustained by striker Alexander Isak in the Premier League's 17th round match against Tottenham, which they won 2-1.
Idman.Biz reports that the Swede scored in the 56th minute and was substituted in the 60th minute.
"Alexander Isak underwent successful surgery today after suffering an injury on Saturday. The Liverpool striker suffered an injury in a collision while trying to score the opening goal in the match against Tottenham and was forced to leave the field.
Following diagnosis, he underwent surgery today for an ankle injury, including a fibula fracture. Isak's rehabilitation will continue at the club's training center. His return date has not yet been determined," the press service said in a statement published on Liverpool's official website.
