"Our team couldn't perform successfully in the first round. We couldn't even go to training. The main reason for this was financial problems." These words were said by Famil Mammadov, the head of "Lerik", which competes in the Second League, in his statement to Sport24.az.
The club official evaluated the season:
"We couldn't collect the points we wanted. In the second round, we had to make changes in the squad and attract some football players to the team. In certain matches, we showed determination and earned points. At least we qualified for the play-offs. We will try to keep our place in the league. If the club falls to the Regional League, we are not thinking of taking a break. We will continue our activities. There is no news about the stadium in Lerik. Most likely, we will not be able to play in our hometown next season either."
It should be noted that "Lerik" finished the Second League in 13th place with 19 points.
