Lamine Yamal's father, Munir Nasraui, stated that he is confident his son, the Barcelona midfielder, will win the Ballon d'Or in 2026. The 18-year-old Spaniard finished second in the 2025 Ballon d'Or voting, behind only PSG striker Usman Dembele. Sport24.az reports that he told "El Partidazo de COPE" about this:
"I watched the award ceremony. Next year it's ours."
It should be noted that Yamal has received the "Young Player of the Year" award for the second time in a row. In the 2024/25 season, the midfielder scored 18 goals and provided 25 assists in 55 matches for Barcelona in all competitions. He won the Spanish Championship and the Spanish Cup with the team.
